About Vintage Inspired Coasters! | Interior Collection

I have a confession...I've never used Mod Podge before, crazy huh? So the other day I was looking at our monochromatic family room and thought this room could use a little color!  So I set out to make coasters using craft paper and Mod Podge.  Here's how it all went down.

Here are my supplies.  I chose craft papers in soft turquoise and green.  These tiles I found at the re-store for 25 cents each.

Using the Mod Podge, I started by adhering the paper to the top of the tile.

Then I put a thin layer of Mod Podge on top of the paper allowing 15 minutes to dry before adding another layer.

Here they are drying.  Kid 2 made a cute butterfly coaster...

Each coaster has 3 thin layers of Mod Podge...this should protect the papers from any water damage. 

Here they are finished, although I still need to add a cork backing to protect my table from scratches.

Cute and functional...two of my favorite things!

This is such a fun rainy day project, and took just under 2 hours to complete.  Now I've got fun, pretty coasters that also protect my table from water marks.

My first experience with Mod Podge?  Yup, Mod Podge rocks!!!
