About One Room Challenge - week 3 | Interior Collection

 

Hey guys, I'm linking up our bonus room makeover (progress) to the One Room Challenge over at Calling it Home today!  Now remember for the ORC we have 6 weeks to completely re-do a room.  So this is our progress after three weeks.

Here's my Inspiration Design Board.  I want a total room refresh...

And here's the Before below.  Yes too warm and dark, and the room was really just a hodge podge of home accessories since this is where our kids mainly hang our with their friends.  However, they're getting older and we have family movie nights here too, so I'm thinking it's time to create a nice space we all can enjoy!

Here are a few changes we've made so far...

The walls were painted a cool grey - Sherwin Williams Worldly Grey a few months ago actually.  I love this warm gray, it's definitely one of my favorites!  Our black quatrefoil mirror was switched out for this black and white framed print from Ikea.  Amazing but we had a garage sale about a month ago and found this standing lamp in the attic!  I think it's perfect in this corner for task lighting.  I also added lighter curtain panels and bamboo shades.  I love the texture they add to this space!

But there's still so much more to do!  We need to add color with throw pillows, paint the armoire and remove the ceiling fan.  I'll also do something with my Diy art to the left, right now it's looking too light. I'm thinking that painting the armoire a fun color will change the entire look of the room!
