About One Room Challenge - Week 4 | Interior Collection

 

Hey guys, well it's week 4 of The One Room Challenge and I have to say I'm having so much fun!  So far we've painted the walls a warm gray.  Added bamboo shades and simple white curtain panels.  The dark art before has been primed and repainted by yours truly - although I'm pretty sure it will be revamped again because it's looking a bit light.  Okay if your new here and missed the Before picture of this room go here.

So at this point the room is really a blank slate and is ready for new lighting, accessories and COLOR!

Here's the first Design Board I made for the room...

 I really love the soft silvery blue armoire and gray/yellow color combination in this board.  However it hit me a few weeks into this challenge - that our home's overall design is very neutral.  And this is my chance to have some fun with COLOR!

So here's the final design board below.  I was inspired by this navy blue armoire below from Emily A Clark, and will be painting our armoire this same color - Benjamin Moore's Hale Navy.

I found this pillow on the left on Etsy and was really drawn to the subtle ikat design and fun colors.  And you won't believe where I found this pillow on the right.  Hobby Lobby and it cost, are you ready for this, just $9.99!  Okay if you haven't seen their new pillow cover collection you have to check em' out!  They have so many great colors and pattern choices.

Finally I ordered this flush mount ceiling light from Room & Board and am soooo excited to take down our existing ceiling fan/light combo and replace it with this sleek and sophisticated light.  Yes, I won the ceiling fan battle!

Ahhh, our kids are going to be entertaining their friends in style ;)  Actually my goal is to make this space a comfortable and stylish bonus & media room we all can enjoy - kids and adults!

Okay, Friday and over the week-end the priming and painting of the armoire begins.  So check back next week for a sneak peek and I also hope to have the new light installed!
